Catie Harsant

Director, Founder and Dance Teacher

Catie was born and raised in the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula where she completed the majority of her dance training in classical ballet, jazz, tap and ballroom.

Catie has been teaching dance professionally for a number of years, and has worked for some of Auckland’s leading dance schools teaching a range of different age groups and dance disciplines including ballet, jazz, contemporary and specialised strength and conditioning programs. Over the past few years, Catie has taught over 400 students, and choreographed and taught for four different studios.  She developed Tiny Dancers, a specialty pre-school dance program which has been delivered in early childhood centres and pop-up workshops outside of the Auckland region.

Catie enjoys the creative challenge that comes with working with young dancers, and enjoys teaching classes that incorporate the core foundations of movement and dance, whilst also providing an opportunity to use imagination and creative expression. She has been teaching young dancers for over four years, and takes pride in her ability to connect with young dancers in a kind, calm, and compassionate way.

Aside from dance, Catie is a qualified pilates instructor having completed her Certificate IV in Mat & Reformer Pilates and STOTT Pilates Barre (including pre and post-natal) qualification. Catie is a huge advocate of professional development, and often attends training and seminars to further her knowledge in the field of dance and pilates. She most recently attended the Professional Development Teachers Seminar through the Royal New Zealand Ballet in 2018. Catie currently dances ballroom and latin.
